Hub en Lab voor Sustainist Design

The Beach is an Amsterdam Nieuw-West based hub and lab for Sustainist Design, where people and organisations collaborate in making projects which strengthen communities. Their work is based on values such as sustainability, the human scale and fair sharing. Designing new kinds of relationships – creating new civic tissue – and researching underlying processes are at the core of their activities. 

During WeMakeThe.City they organise Sustainist Design workshops, applying codesign processes to current topics. Over the weekend it's time for the Buurtmakersfestival (festival of Neighbourhood Makers), organised together with the locals; designers and makers will demonstrate the binding power of the maker culture.
