Lola Luid

Open House

LOLA stands for LeegstandOplossers Amsterdam, which roughly translates to ‘Vacancy Solvers Amsterdam’. The organisation makes vacant real estate available to civic initiatives, offering an alternative to commercial solutions. By offering empty buildings to civic, artistic and cultural initiatives for a low price, LOLA solves short-term problems for the real estate owner whilst giving initiatives, start-ups and new talent an opportunity for developing themselves.

It’s about making buildings available quick and easy, to avoid complicated procedures and make way for spontaneous initiatives. Projects tend to only bloom in practice, interacting with users and the surroundings.

Lola Luid#3 is one of the projects LOLA manages. It was located on different sites before settling on de Derkinderenstraat in New West. LOLA also maintained the former prison Bijlmer Bajes and manages buildings in Amstelveen and Osdorp.

On June 23, LOLA Luid#3 will open its doors: , they can have a look at the artists’ studios, join a workshop, watch an exhibition, play sports and games at the gym or listen to live music. visitors can enjoy the restaurant and its terrace
